Le visage du personnage semble exprimer la stupeur. Elle meurt avant d&rsquo;atteindre son but.<br \/>\nSur la barque Waterhouse repr\u00e9sente la tapisserie que la jeune femme a tiss\u00e9e durant sa captivit\u00e9.<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\">Joseph Mallord William Turner au mus\u00e9e de Londres<\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Tr\u00e8s t\u00f4t Turner r\u00eave de peindre la lumi\u00e8re<\/strong> dans un tel flamboiement qu&rsquo;il va jusqu&rsquo;\u00e0 faire dispara\u00eetre les formes et les contours des objets du r\u00e9el.<br \/>\nJohn Ruskin dit de lui :<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em>\u00ab Il lui \u00e9tait impossible de voir qu&rsquo;aucune \u00e9cole de peinture n&rsquo;avait jamais r\u00e9v\u00e9l\u00e9 la v\u00e9ritable couleur de la nature&#8230;\u00bb<\/em><\/h4>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">L&rsquo;\u0153uvre de <a href=\"https:\/\/fr.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Joseph_Mallord_William_Turner\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">William Turner<\/a> est un condens\u00e9 de l&rsquo;art de la composition, du romantisme, de l&rsquo;impressionnisme, qui se conjuguent dans une explosion de lumi\u00e8re.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">En 1794, la Royal Academy expose ses travaux d\u00e9j\u00e0 appr\u00e9ci\u00e9s des critiques. Comme punition les Carthaginois lui d\u00e9coupent les paupi\u00e8res.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Turner symbolise l&rsquo;\u00e9blouissement par une violente lumi\u00e8re qui se r\u00e9verb\u00e8re sur la mer.<\/strong> La sc\u00e8ne est floue, les contours presque invisibles.<br \/>\nLe port peint par Turner fait r\u00e9f\u00e9rence au tableau de Claude Gell\u00e9e (Le Lorrain) \u00ab\u00a0Port avec la villa M\u00e9dicis (XVII -\u00e8me si\u00e8cle).
