Ensembles, ils produisent un <strong>heavy rock parfois exp\u00e9rimental<\/strong>, parfois <strong>bluesy<\/strong>, <strong>progressif et jazz<\/strong>y, le genre de mixe susceptible de produire <strong>des enregistrements singuliers<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Le son du premier Lp<\/strong> \u00e9ponyme fait beaucoup pour cette singularit\u00e9. Lorsque jou\u00e9, en fermant les yeux, on pourrait presque croire que <b>le groupe interpr\u00e8te les morceaux \u00e0 proximit\u00e9,<\/b> dans la m\u00eame pi\u00e8ce. Mais <strong>le talent ne faisant pas tout,<\/strong> les egos alimentant les exigences, tant vont les formations sur sc\u00e8ne et en studio qu\u2019\u00e0 la fin elles se brisent. <strong>Patto splitte<\/strong>. Beau dommage.<\/p>\n<h3>PATTO &#8211; Money Bag<\/h3>\n<div class=\"youtube-embed\" data-video_id=\"u54w0ALhcDQ\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"patto money bag\" width=\"696\" height=\"522\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/u54w0ALhcDQ\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Mike Patto<\/strong> s\u2019en va fonder <strong>Boxer<\/strong>, <strong>Ollie Halsall<\/strong> int\u00e8gre <strong>Tempest<\/strong>. Chose \u00e9trange, au sein de leurs nouveaux groupes, <strong>chacun reproduit s\u00e9par\u00e9ment ce qu\u2019ils r\u00e9alisaient en commun.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Avec <strong>Boxer<\/strong>, sur <strong><em>Below The Belt<\/em><\/strong> (1975) \u2013 quel titre pour quelle pochette ! \u2013 <strong>Patto chante \u00e0 l\u2019identique<\/strong> de ce qu\u2019il a fait jusque-l\u00e0, de fa\u00e7on tr\u00e8s <strong>d\u00e9contract\u00e9e<\/strong>, de cette <strong>voix l\u00e9g\u00e8rement feutr\u00e9e<\/strong> qui effleure le sommet des graves et <strong>cajole de moelleux m\u00e9diums<\/strong>. Par contre, les <strong>chansons<\/strong> sont structur\u00e9es de fa\u00e7on<strong> plus \u00ab classique \u00bb<\/strong>, moins aventureuse, <strong>d\u00e9noyaut\u00e9es de leur aspect jazzy.<\/strong> Par l\u00e0-m\u00eame, leur accessibilit\u00e9 \u00e0 un public <strong>plus \u00ab traditionnellement \u00bb hard rock <\/strong>se trouve renforc\u00e9e.<\/p>\n<h3>BOXER &#8211; Californie Calling<\/h3>\n<div class=\"youtube-embed\" data-video_id=\"YUY_tz10lps\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"CALIFORNIA CALLING - BOXER\" width=\"696\" height=\"522\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/YUY_tz10lps\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Lorsque <strong>Halsall rejoint Tempest,<\/strong> le groupe pr\u00e9sente d\u00e9j\u00e0 un album \u00e0 son actif, du genre hard rock parfois progressif. Il inaugure son arriv\u00e9e avec <strong><em>Living In Fear<\/em><\/strong> (1974), un album qui pr\u00e9sente un <strong>visuel \u00e9trangement similaire \u00e0 celui du premier Patto<\/strong>. N\u00e9anmoins, la <strong>musique<\/strong> est un rien diff\u00e9rente, <strong>moins \u00ab exp\u00e9rimentale \u00bb et\/ou jazzy.<\/strong> Si le guitariste brode toujours <strong>des solos sur des gammes particuli\u00e8res,<\/strong> pr\u00e9sentant une dext\u00e9rit\u00e9 qui <strong>rappelle celle de <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=WKQXpwc97uw\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Frank Zappa<\/a>,<\/strong> c\u2019est au b\u00e9n\u00e9fice de <strong>chansons teint\u00e9es hard rock \u00ab traditionnel \u00bb<\/strong>. En cela, encore une fois, <strong>Mike Patto et Ollie Halsall font jeu \u00e9gal.<\/strong> Non pas qu\u2019il s\u2019agisse d\u2019une comp\u00e9tition, mais <strong>au niveau des orientations musicales suivies<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h3>TEMPEST &#8211; Living in Fear<\/h3>\n<div class=\"youtube-embed\" data-video_id=\"0U1aHr9tf1E\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Tempest - Living In Fear\" width=\"696\" height=\"392\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/0U1aHr9tf1E\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Question : <strong>pourquoi se s\u00e9parer pour adopter une proposition musicale<\/strong> qui, si elle diff\u00e8re de l\u2019initiale, \u00e9pouse un profil <strong>quasi identique ?<\/strong> Tout en modifiant leurs partitions, en les assagissant, <strong>les deux musiciens auraient tr\u00e8s bien pu continuer de concert.<\/strong> Nonobstant, <strong>pour son auditorat, le gain est substantiel<\/strong>. A la place d\u2019un disque \u00e0 deux, il <strong>b\u00e9n\u00e9ficie de deux disques tout \u00e0 fait jouissifs.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Des regrets ? <strong>Patto<\/strong> livrait des albums pr\u00e9sentant <strong>ce petit \u00ab quelque chose \u00bb identitaire<\/strong> qui faisait <strong>son attrait<\/strong> et qui <strong>n\u2019apparait plus dans Boxer ou Tempest<\/strong>.
