Une formation \u00e0 la puissance d\u00e9vastatrice, sur laquelle le guitariste souhaite exp\u00e9rimenter de nouvelles id\u00e9es, et appliquer les toutes derni\u00e8res technologies. Les deux hommes ont d\u00e9j\u00e0 travaill\u00e9 ensemble \u00e0 plusieurs reprises. Pour son supergroupe, il souhaite enr\u00f4ler un ph\u00e9nom\u00e8ne. Une voix capable d\u2019\u00e9branler le public, de le survolter, de le mettre \u00e0 genoux. Son premier choix se porte sur <strong>Steve Marriott<\/strong> qui vient de quitter les <strong>Small Faces<\/strong>. Mais ce dernier, convaincu d\u2019avoir trouv\u00e9 son bin\u00f4me avec le jeune Peter Frampton, s\u2019en va former le groupe <strong>Humble Pie<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">A cette \u00e9poque un nouveau talent agite le c\u0153ur de Londres. Le chanteur et guitariste <a href=\"https:\/\/culturesco.com\/index.php\/2019\/07\/24\/terry-reid-il-refusa-d-etre-le-chanteur-de-led-zeppelin-et-deep-purple-une-grande-voix-meconnue-des-seventies-superlungs-seed-of-memory-to-be-treated-rite\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Terry Reid<\/a>. V\u00e9ritable alter-ego de <a href=\"https:\/\/culturesco.com\/index.php\/2021\/10\/04\/janis-joplin-et-la-legende-de-la-dame-cosmique-conte-rock\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Janis Joplin<\/a>, il semble poss\u00e9der le profil id\u00e9al. Pourtant, il d\u00e9cline gentiment la proposition, et oriente Jimmy Page sur son homologue encore inconnu du grand public, le truculent <strong>Robert Plant<\/strong>. Un f\u00e9ru de blues \u00e0 la voix percutante et haut-perch\u00e9e. Page l\u2019a d\u00e9j\u00e0 re\u00e7u dans le hangar \u00e0 bateaux o\u00f9 il r\u00e9p\u00e8te, et trouve l\u2019id\u00e9e excellente. Malgr\u00e9 son manque de notori\u00e9t\u00e9, il se souvient que le courant passait, et reconna\u00eet que le chanteur poss\u00e8de un gros potentiel.<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\">John Bonham<\/h3>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-16531 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/culturesco.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/images.jpeg?resize=276%2C182&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" width=\"276\" height=\"182\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Leader du groupe <strong>Band of Joy<\/strong>, Robert Plant accepte avec enthousiasme. Pour le poste de batteur, il recommande son ami <strong>John Bonham<\/strong>. Un ours affable, n\u00e9 pour les baguettes, et s\u2019inspirant depuis son plus jeune \u00e2ge, des ma\u00eetres du jazz, <strong>Buddy Rich<\/strong> et <strong>Gene Krupa<\/strong>. Int\u00e9ress\u00e9 par le projet, <em>Bonzo<\/em> rechigne \u00e0 abandonner son groupe. Sur insistance de Robert Plant, il accepte de faire un essai\u2026<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Le 19 ao\u00fbt 1968<\/strong>, les quatres musiciens participent \u00e0 leur premi\u00e8re r\u00e9p\u00e9tition. Au bout d\u2019une demi-heure l\u2019alchimie est telle que le groupe joue comme s\u2019il existait depuis des ann\u00e9es. Jimmy Page comprend que son r\u00eave va enfin prendre forme.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em>\u201cOn s\u2019est regard\u00e9s d\u2019un air entendu. On sentait qu\u2019un truc \u00e9norme venait de se produire.\u201d<\/em><\/h4>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Tr\u00e8s vite, les compositions affluent. Lors de leur premi\u00e8re tourn\u00e9e en Scandinavie, baptis\u00e9s <strong>The New Yardbirds<\/strong>, leur r\u00e9pertoire se compose de reprises des Yardbirds, et de compositions et adaptations amen\u00e9es \u00e0 figurer sur leur premier album.<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\">Led Zeppelin I : un r\u00e9pertoire puis\u00e9 dans le folklore am\u00e9ricain<\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Le 25 septembre, le groupe entre en studio. Il ne leur faut que <strong>36 heures<\/strong>, mixage compris, pour y parvenir, tant ils ma\u00eetrisent d\u00e9j\u00e0 les morceaux. Composition r\u00e9volutionnaire, le refrain de ce titre sorti en single est accrocheur, on a rarement entendu le rock s\u2019enrichir d\u2019une telle technique et d\u2019une production si l\u00e9ch\u00e9e. Chaque partie de <em>Good Times, Bad Times<\/em> est ex\u00e9cut\u00e9e avec puissance, mais doubl\u00e9e d\u2019une ma\u00eetrise totalement hallucinante. Si les chevronn\u00e9s Jones et Page \u00e9taient attendus \u00e0 ce niveau, les deux inconnus Bonham et Plant surprennent par leur professionnalisme et leur facult\u00e9 \u00e0 se surpasser. Le premier utilise parfaitement les dynamiques, et livre une partie batterie, aux roulements de grosse caisse \u00e9poustouflants. Le second r\u00e9ussit l\u2019exploit de faire mieux qu\u2019exister au dessus d\u2019un instrumental puissant, et enregistr\u00e9 live\u2026<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\">Led Zeppelin &#8211; Good Times, Bad Times (Led Zeppelin I)<\/h3>\n<div class=\"youtube-embed\" data-video_id=\"2u-n__lHhWU\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Good Times Bad Times (Remaster)\" width=\"696\" height=\"522\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/2u-n__lHhWU\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">En 1959, lorsque <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Anne_Bredon\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Anne Bredon<\/a> compose et interpr\u00e8te le titre <em>Babe I\u2019m Gonna Leave You<\/em>, elle ne cherche pas n\u00e9cessairement le succ\u00e8s. Alors \u00e9tudiante \u00e0 l\u2019universit\u00e9 de Berkeley (Californie), elle vient de prendre une d\u00e9cision d\u00e9licate, et difficile \u00e0 assumer \u00e0 cette \u00e9poque. Divorcer de son mari et laisser ses deux enfants. Le titre lui permet surtout d\u2019expier ce qui passe alors pour une faute, ou un p\u00e9ch\u00e9. Dans sa version d\u2019origine, il est d\u2019ailleurs emprunt d\u2019un d\u00e9sespoir presque macabre.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">En 1960, Anne Bredon fait un passage remarqu\u00e9 avec cette chanson, dans l\u2019\u00e9mission de radio <em>The Midnight Special<\/em>, alors d\u00e9volue au folk. Quelques mois plus tard, Janet Smith en livre une premi\u00e8re reprise au cours de la m\u00eame \u00e9mission. Cette derni\u00e8re attire l\u2019attention de <strong>Joan Baez<\/strong>, qui l\u2019adapte avec ses propres arrangements, sur son album live <em>Joan Baez in Concert Part 1<\/em>. Une nouvelle adaptation de <em>Babe, I\u2019m Gonna Leave You<\/em> voit le jour.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Cette derni\u00e8re est dot\u00e9e d\u2019un arp\u00e8ge distinctif, d\u2019un tempo et de paroles remani\u00e9s. Le crescendo rock termine d\u2019en faire une cr\u00e9ation \u00e0 part enti\u00e8re, sensiblement \u00e9loign\u00e9e de la version d\u2019origine. Ayant d\u00e9laiss\u00e9 la musique pour la vannerie indienne, Anne Bredon pr\u00e9tend n\u2019avoir d\u00e9couvert la version <em>Zeppelinesque<\/em> qu\u2019au cours des ann\u00e9es 80. Ce titre \u00e9crit par <a href=\"https:\/\/culturesco.com\/index.php\/2021\/01\/29\/willie-dixon-ambassadeur-du-blues-et-pourvoyeur-des-sixties-back-door-man-little-red-rooster-hoochie-koochie-man\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Willie Dixon<\/a> pour Muddy Waters, est d\u00e9j\u00e0 repris en 1968, par <a href=\"https:\/\/culturesco.com\/index.php\/2022\/03\/15\/the-jeff-beck-group-pionnier-du-hard-et-all-star-band\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Jeff Beck Group sur l\u2019album Truth<\/a>. Un enregistrement auquel John Paul Jones a contribu\u00e9, et o\u00f9 Jimmy Page \u00e9tait pr\u00e9sent. En particulier durant la tourn\u00e9e qui s&rsquo;ensuivit. Hors, plusieurs ann\u00e9es apr\u00e8s sa sortie, il niait encore avoir entendu la version <strong>Beck\/Stewart<\/strong>. Voil\u00e0 pourquoi Jeff Beck ne d\u00e9col\u00e8re pas qu\u2019une cover similaire se soit retrouv\u00e9e sur le premier album de Led Zeppelin, \u00e0 peine quelques mois plus tard. On peine \u00e0 croire que ces deux l\u00e0 n\u2019ont pas jou\u00e9 toute leur vie ensemble, tant la fusion qui s\u2019op\u00e8re sur ce titre, et plus encore par la suite au Royal Albert Hall, ou <a href=\"https:\/\/culturesco.com\/index.php\/2022\/02\/10\/the-song-remains-the-same-la-symphonie-de-led-zeppelin-dazed-and-confused-stairway-to-heaven\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">au Madison Square Garden<\/a>, \u00e9voque une cr\u00e9ature virtuose \u00e0 deux t\u00eates.
