Voici l&rsquo;histoire d&rsquo;un po\u00e8te des temps modernes. Il voit le jour le 10 juillet 1942. <strong>Sixi\u00e8me enfant d&rsquo;une fratrie<\/strong>, il h\u00e9rite du pr\u00e9nom <em>Sixto<\/em>. Il est initi\u00e9 \u00e0 la musique et au blues par son p\u00e8re. D&rsquo;un milieu populaire, il se montre concern\u00e9 par la cause ouvri\u00e8re et les in\u00e9galit\u00e9s sociales d\u00e9s son plus jeune \u00e2ge. La prose de Sixto est moins litt\u00e9raire, mais ouvertement contestataire. Pour tout dire, m\u00eame s&rsquo;il en a l&rsquo;enveloppe, <strong>Sixto Rodriguez<\/strong> n&rsquo;a pas l&rsquo;\u00e2me d&rsquo;une star. Trop introverti, il semble mal \u00e0 l&rsquo;aise face au public. De plus, il r\u00e9fuse syst\u00e9matiquement de se faire interviewer ou prendre en photo.<\/p>\n<p>Les ventes ne d\u00e9collent pas, mais Sussex Records continue de croire en son poulain. Lors d&rsquo;une conf\u00e9rence de presse aux Etats-Unis, il va jusqu&rsquo;\u00e0 \u00e9courter sa promotion pour tendre le micro aux <strong><em>Brown Berets <\/em><\/strong>(\u00e9quivalent des Black Panthers hispaniques) afin qu&rsquo;ils exposent leurs revendications concernant les conditions de vie des latino-am\u00e9ricains.<\/p>\n<h3>Echec et disparition<\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Trop engag\u00e9 pour l&rsquo;\u00e9poque et son pays de naissance ? Toujours est-il que les disques de Rodriguez restent dans les bacs. Bricoleur, il d\u00e9croche un emploi de man\u0153uvre sur un chantier et commence \u00e0 alterner les petits boulots. Il exerce aussi comme \u00e9ducateur b\u00e9n\u00e9vole et poursuit des \u00e9tudes de philosophie en parall\u00e8le. Si bien qu&rsquo;ils finissent par r\u00e9clamer sa pr\u00e9sence en <\/span><strong style=\"font-family: Verdana, Geneva, sans-serif;font-size: 15px;text-align: justify;color: #222222\">1979<\/strong><span style=\"font-family: Verdana, Geneva, sans-serif;font-size: 15px;text-align: justify;color: #222222\">. Ayant totalement disparu de la circulation, il est aussi l&rsquo;objet de nombreuses sp\u00e9culations. Qui est donc ce myst\u00e9rieux personnage figurant sur les pochettes ? Un sorcier ? Un extraterrestre ? Certains pr\u00e9tendent l&rsquo;avoir vu se mettre une balle dans la t\u00eate devant un maigre auditoire m\u00e9dus\u00e9, d&rsquo;autres qu&rsquo;il s&rsquo;est immol\u00e9 par le feu en plein concert. Les rumeurs vont bon train et la l\u00e9gende d\u00e9colle&#8230; mais en Oc\u00e9anie, uniquement !<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Il aurait sans doute pu s&rsquo;y installer et vivre confortablement sa vie, mais Sixto n&rsquo;a d\u00e9cid\u00e9ment rien d&rsquo;une star. Semblant g\u00ean\u00e9 de susciter un tel engouement, il effectue une s\u00e9rie de concerts entre 1979 et 81, dont une avec le groupe <a href=\"https:\/\/fr.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Midnight_Oil\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Midnight Oil<\/a>.
